4. Savings, Zakat Readiness & Asnaf Progression
Savings Behaviour
A total of 62 participants recorded cash savings of less than RM4,000, while 12 participants recorded cash savings of less than RM3,000. Meanwhile, 2 participants did not record any savings during the monitoring period.
This savings indicator refers specifically to cash savings placed in formal savings instruments such as ASB and Tabung Haji, and does not include other asset-based savings such as gold or similar holdings.
Zakat Readiness
Based on the current monitoring record, 2 participants have been recorded as Muzakki / zakat payers, having practised zakat payment shortly after completing the course.
Meanwhile, 22 participants under the Asnaf Transisi / Productive Asnaf category have demonstrated zakat readiness, although they have not yet been recorded as zakat payers during the current monitoring phase.
Overall, all participants have shown awareness of zakat obligations and are practising better financial discipline towards fulfilling this responsibility, with the target of preparing for zakat payment by the end of the year. The achievement of the 2 zakat-paying participants also serves as a motivational example for other asnaf participants to progress gradually towards stronger financial resilience and productive asnaf status.
73 participants, or 97.33%, remain registered under the Asnaf Group Category. Based on the positive progress recorded, 22 participants have demonstrated economic mobility and readiness towards the Asnaf Transisi / Productive Asnaf category. Meanwhile, 2 participants have shown strong indicators of financial progression beyond the asnaf category; however, any formal exit from the asnaf category remains subject to official verification by the relevant zakat authority.
5. Reporting Integrity Notes
The figures presented are based on programme monitoring records and participant-reported updates. They are used to indicate programme-level progress and impact trends, and are not intended to replace formal verification by financial institutions, zakat authorities or audited financial documentation.
For participants with limited individual survey responses, cohort-level monitoring summaries were used to support consolidated reporting. These figures are intended to reflect programme-level impact trends and should be interpreted as monitoring-based outcome indicators, not as audited individual financial statements.
This approach allows the report to present a complete and balanced view of the BSP cohort while maintaining transparency on the nature of the data used for impact reporting.
